I'm working at a co. p/t time for the holidays where they use Corel Draw x4 program to scan school art work and clean it up ...using bitmat and filling in colors that don't come out right after scanning. I need a tutorial on all the different commands for this. I'm overwhelmed. They are so busy and have so many schools of art work to fix that they don't have time to teach me. Is there any book or tutorial I can buy to teach me how to do all this? The art work goes on merch. Fustrated.

You can't because the background does not exist. The paper you see is just a guide so that you can judge the proportions of whatr you are making. You will see that if you export something into a bitmap there will be no space beyond what you drew and what you leave blank is transparent. If you really want a background, draw a rectangle and set it as the back layer.
